Out and About in June.

Some images of June. A good month so far...

First up, photos from the nursery summer outing. This year we visited Kelburn country park near Largs. I managed to take some hasty photos while the boys zoomed round the fortress play park, tore along the paths through the maze and woodland areas (I was glad I'd not missed the wild garlic, the first I'd seen this year, it smelt fabulous!), checked out the graffitied castle, hid each others' wellies in the gardens whilst also managing to gobble up their picnic lunches, and poked each other with their newly purchased swords from the gift shop. A fun day.

Now to earlier in the month when N and I took a little walk alongside the loch. A few wildflowers were starting to bloom - orange hawkwed, comfrey (I discovered what it was, hooray!), buttercups and red campion. Some school children were being taught how to sail, a mother duck and duckling were bobbing on the choppy water (surely a contender for my photo entries for next year's show?), and we got some take-away cakes from the local cafe - yummy, especially the tiffin, mmmmm!

It's all a little rushed - June is a busy month!

I love the photo of the ducks! I liked your photos of Kelburn, I haven't been there in years, I really must take my wee girl there soon, she would love it.

Love the ducks photo, they're all looking in the same direction - what are the chances of getting that to happen again, a good contender for the photograph competition. Love the art on that building.

Of course, I love the graffiti and the castle. To see them together is wacky--a little jarring--old and modern side by side like that.
