Saturday morning bike ride.

A misty start. Lots of dew-dropped cobwebs and ripening berries.

As I and the sun climb higher the mist starts to clear. I am rewarded with beautiful clear views at the reservoir, though even as I sit to admire them the mist drifts back over, changing the view in minutes.

I left at 7:30am and get home at 11:30 (the ride includes lots of photo-faffing time, not all 4 hours are spent actually cycling!) to find freshly baked muffins waiting.

A lovely start to the day.

Days like these put me in mind of the first line of "To Autumn" by Keats - "Season of mists and mellow fruitfulness,". Linda @ Occasional Scotland introduced me to few more lines which I now can't get out my head as I am hearing (but not seeing) robins whenever I am out and about: " and now with treble soft The red-breast whistles from a garden-croft; And gathering swallows twitter in the skies." I saw swallows still here on Wednesday!

Well done. You've managed to really capture the "magic in the mist."
Heard someone at the local shops say on the same day " I was going to go out and take some landscape photography shots but there's nothing worthwhile to photograph when the weather is like this".
Says it all really.

Keats fits your photos perfectly. The ram in the fog was great.

I love that poem and shared it last week because it is such a favourite of mine. Your photos illustrate it perfectly and the coming of autumn! What a wonderful bike ride! xx
