Dunrobin

More holiday photos. This time from the day we visited Dunrobin Castle, a very pleasant place to spend the day. One of the most fascinating places within the castle grounds is the small museum though unfortunately photography was not allowed inside - you'll need to go and see for yourselves what was in there! On the way home we visited Dornoch where Ottery enjoyed his visit to the beach. Ottery was rescued by N from Dunrobin, where apparently he was being bullied by the other "cuddly" otters in the castle shop.

That castle is just so amazing, and I love owls, the markings on that owl are gorgeous.

The castle just looks like something in a fairy story! And Ottery looks like the sort of animal we would have to rescue in the same situation!

We've "rescued" quite a few cuddly things in our time too. It looks like an amazing place, the waterlilies are stunning, and the architectural greenness with the glimpse of sea in the background is fantastic. I hope you have a good week. CJ xx

The otter is so realistic, I had to go back and look again. He's cute. The castle looks so interesting, I'd love to visit a castle someday. Thank you for sharing.

Those turrets give it a French feel. Love the gardens.

I really enjoy visiting Scotland with you! We don't do nearly enough traveling around, being creatures of habit, going to the same old places year after year after year. x

Do you know we passed Dunrobin castle on the way home from Skye this weekend, having seen Dunvegan castle and Eilean Donan castle. We commented on how impressive it is in comparison, we pass it that many times that some of it's beauty gets too blended into the background if you know what I mean. It is a fairy tale castle :) with the best falconry display I have ever been too :D xxxx

Looks lovely. Such a shame so many museums don't allow photography. Being able to see inside the museum in your lovely post would be a great thing for Dunrobin. Thanks for sharing.
