More Randomness...

Well, I've submitted twenty six job applications. I managed to get one interview. And... well, you can wait till the end to find out!

Really random this week. And really short of interesting photos to share - just more of the garden. I've missed the opportunity to get out and photograph the hawthorn blooming all around the countryside. I'm about to miss cow parsely season too if I don't get a wiggle on. And the buttercups. Though there are plenty in the garden to keep me going. I've given up trying to weed them out now. I've always been happy to have diasies in the garden, the buttercups can stay too. And shock, horror, never thought I'd say this - I no longer mind dandelions. I think we now have what you'd call a wild-life friendly garden. I like it. I'll photograph it properly soon, during the holidays, did I mention I have 6 weeks off coming up!

Whilst shopping this week I heard "Rip it Up" by Orange Juice - a blast from the past, I was humming along as I negotiated the crowded aisles. In Asda it was, people seem particularly prone to blocking up the aisles there, lots of slowcoaches dawdling along together...

I had my first child-free night for over ten years. N was at a Beavers sleep-over and A was at a Brownie pack holiday.

During the up-and-coming 6 week break we'll be visiting the Peak District. Any must-visit places? Favourite little nooks? I know quite a few bloggers are from fairly close by. Anyone even want to meet up? No worries if not, I'm sure we'll be plenty busy.

Anyway, the interview result was a no. I've still four applications to hear back about but I'm not expecting anything positive from them. So supply it will be after the summer. It will be interesting and good for me I'm sure!

Have a good week...

Random

Images from the end of May and the beginning of June...

Our local gala day was cancelled for the first time ever. High winds were the main reason but it was also an exceptionally rainy, cold day so it would have been most unpleasant had it gone ahead. Such a shame for the organisers and the participants after so much work preparing costumes and float decorations etc. Still, there's always next year...

The hawthorn flowers on the tree in the garden finally opened on the 3rd of June, very late for casting our clouts. We did enjoy some warm, sunny weather for a short while but it's gone back to being cold again.

A has had another birthday and is now ten. Where is the time going! Cartwheels, handstands, etc are all the rage. I remember that stage when I was young too. I have attempted a few cartwheels in the garden myself recently, just to see if I've still got it. I was told I was "quite good", whatever that means.

I've submitted twenty one job applications so far and had my first interview on Friday. I'll hear early next week but I'm not holding my breath. I'll apply for more positions tomorrow, Sunday seems to be a popular deadline.

Two weeks till the end of term and I have still so much to do. One "minor" job involves emptying my classroom. Where am I going to put all that stuff? Still, six weeks off then follows, lovely!
