Butterflies

I like chasing butterflies round the garden with my camera...

Mr Owl looks rather surprised, A was delighted.

I've only seen peacock butterflies (as in these photos) and cabbage whites (none of which lingered long enough for me to photograph) in the garden so far this year. The peacocks are my favourite.

I now have the theme tune from Butterflies running through my head (the link gives a very good synopsis, I'd like to watch the series again). Altogether now...

Love is like a butterfly
As soft and gentle as a sigh
The multicoloured moods of love are like its satin wings
Love makes your heart feel strange inside
It flutters like soft wings in flight
Love is like a butterfly, a rare and gentle thing

(Lyrics by Dolly Parton)

You lucky thing, I don't get Peacocks here, their colours are wonderful.

Great photos, we are lucky to get quite a few Peacocks in our garden as well - it may be all the nettles, lol! Bethx

I love butterflies too and really miss having a buddleia (garden is far too small sadly) to attract them. Peacocks are just stunning, one of my favourites I think. Juliex

Those are gorgeous. I love the touch of lilac in their wings.

It's butterfly season here too - on my ride yesterday I saw quite a few, but never when the camera was handy, and none so beautiful as these.
