A damp grey morning. I want to see how the Autumn colour is developing on the trees so I set off to follow leaf lined lanes and roads.
Still so many shades of green.
This diversion does look rather tempting but I stick to my route.
Glasgow in the distance. If you look closely in the centre of the photo you can see an aeroplane about to land (clicking on any of the photos enlarges them for a better view)
Umbellifers.
Dog rose.
Cows watch my progress.
Fly agaric. The first time I've seen these in the flesh, I even got off my bike to take (lots of) photographs.
I like the colours of the tin roof.
Birds on wires -starlings making a racket.
A disappointing view of the firth today with much cloud covering the hills.
Auchendores reservoir (number 6 in 5 weeks, I hadn't intended visiting so many, there just seem to be a lot round here)
Lovely rolling country views from the cycle path on the way home.
Leaves like stars.
This week's cow line-up.
And I also managed a little bit of shopping while out. I had all of £1.70 with me but found this in a charity shop en route for £1.50.
A bargain, though I do wonder if all the wool is there. Not to worry, I'm sure I can get more if need be.

Today's photos are absolutely stunning. I enjoyed OUR ride!
Cheers

How great to combine your cycle ride with a charity shop browse. I have neer been patient enough for cross stitch - but this one looks so pretty I'm wondering if its, yet another, thing I should have a go at. Juliex
Thanks for taking us on your ride again, Anne!
I really enjoyed it a lot!
gosh you are brave going out with only £1.70 in your pocket. If I was out on a bike ride like that I'd take taxi fare at the very least! Lovely photos as always. That tapestry was obviously meant for you.
Gorgeous pics and what a bargain! x
Ooh ooh, look at those umbellifers- stunning. Those little leaves scattered on the ground are beautiful. I have never seen a fly agaric so I'm rather envious!
Love the cow line up! That tapestry is really pretty and what a bargain!
I am so envious of your fly agaric - I really need to see one too
I love this weeks cow line up! Fly agaric - a deadly toadstool but very photogenic! x
Yet another wonderful cycle ride, thank you! The cows are probably lining up, waiting to see you and ready to get their photo taken these days!!
Everywhere and everything looks so moist — I remember when we were driving with our kids in Scotland, when they were little, their amazement at how much water there was everywhere, in lochs, streams, running down rocks in the hills. Wonderful!
We've just had the driest September on record, and it's probable we won't get much rain until March or even April, towards the end of summer.
Love the fairy-tale spotty toadstool!
Such a beautiful part of the world you live in, so much fun bike riding with you!
Yes Scotland has turned quite autumnal during the 2 weeks we've been away. A very different post to yours early in the year but beautiful none the less. Love the tapestry, what a bargain.
I`d love to know you coax the cows to line up and pose for you each week :)
I love your needlepoint. Probably not enough yarn, but you can get any and not worry about dye lot.
It will be beautiful !
