Crochet Colours.

Hello!

This will be my last African Flower Blanket post till it's really finished, I promise!

I just wanted to show it in a different light. Normally I take the blanket outside to photograph as, obviously, there's much more natural light available. However, it does have the effect of emphasising the blue tones. My blanket does have quite a lot of blue in it but it's not as overpowering as my pictures to date have shown.

So, here is a photo of it taken at about 11pm last night after I'd sewn in a few more ends while watching Autumn Watch & Mock The Week...

A fairly balanced combination of mellow purples, greens, yellows, reds, pinks, browns and yes blues, though blue is certainly not the dominating colour. For comparison here is the blanket from exactly the same viewpoint but the photo was taken outside on a recent sunny afternoon...

So what does it really look like? Well, normally the blanket is indoors, so I guess the first photo is actually the closest though the lighting when I took it was really poor. When I finally do my Ta Da post I'll try to achieve true colours. I've a craft night tonight so will get a few more ends sewn in then I'm afraid I'll need to leave the blanket aside for a while as I'll be starting to work on making things to sell at the forthcoming school fair at the end of November. More on those later...

For those of you who like to use Flickr, photos of crochet seem to be popular with Explore.

I recently had five photos in (one has since been dropped). I'm just away to add the two blanket photos from this post to see how they do.

Lighting and different cameras can really affect the color. I have a few skeins of I made to sell a few years ago and never listed them as I couldn't get a correct photo of the colors. So frustrating.

That afghan is really beautiful.

Your blanket is amazing, and it looks gorgeous in both lights; I think you have been very restrained in your posts, I'd have gone on and on about such a work of art!!
